Josh Smith led the way for the Hawks with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 5 blocked shots in this game. Jamal Crawford pitched in with 20 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Mike Bibby had a so-so game with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals against the Pistons. The Hawks are now 12-5 on the season.
The Hawks shot 51.4% from the floor last night and they outrebounded the Sixers 42-32 and those were the biggest reasons for the win in Philly. The Hawks got absolutely blitzed last night at home by the Magic. The Hawks were outscored 54-25 in the second half of this game as they didn’t look like they belonged on the same court as the Magic. The Hawks only shot 38.8% from the floor in this game and they were outrebounded 53-41 by the Magic. Joe Johnson led the way for the Hawks with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals in this game. Josh Smith only shot 6 of 17 from the floor but he still finished up with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. The Hawks are now 11-4 on the year.
I thought the Hawks should have let Marvin Williams walk instead of giving him that huge contract in the off-season. He is a average ball player at best as the fifth or sixth option on offense for the Hawks. Williams has played in 14 games (all starts) for the Hawks this season and he has averaged 29.6 minutes, 11.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. On a different team Williams would be a better basketball player but in his defense it’s good that he’s not a selfish player who needs the ball in his hands to succeed.

Marvin Williams had another decent game with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Josh Smith stuffed the stat sheet as usual with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocked shots. The Hawks are now 11-3 on the year.
