The Hawks have traded for Point Guard Anthony Johnson
The Hawks have traded a 2nd round pick to the Mavericks for point guard Anthony Johnson. This is Johnson’s third go around with the Atlanta Hawks. Johnson played for the Hawks from 1998-2000 + 2000-2001 and appeared in 112 games and averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 assists per game. For his career, Johnson has played in 586 games and he’s averaged 5.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. This was a good move for the Hawks as they need help at point guard. Speedy Claxton has been a bust, Royal Ivey has little skill and Tyronn Lue has been banged up as of late. It’s possible that Johnson could even start some games for the Hawks who now have a legit chance to make a run for the playoffs due to Dwyane Wade’s devastating injury last night for the Miami Heat.
