The Atlanta Hawks gave a good effort on Saturday, but they were cold from the floor hitting only 37.1% of their shots.  The Hawks did play well on defense as they held the Heat to 36.4% shooting from the floor.

The Hawks were led by Joe Johnson who scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.  Josh Smith had a huge game with 16 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocked shots.  Tyronn Lue came off the bench as scored 13 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.  Zaza Pachulia had a solid game with 12 points & 11 rebounds.

The Hawks fell to 4-4 after their hard fought loss to the Heat.

The Hawks were leading the game 83-78 at the start of the 4th quarter, but they then were out-scored 25-18 to finish the game…which was a loss.  The Hawks just didn’t play any defense as they allowed the Bucks to hit 50.7% from the floor.  The Hawks did out-rebound the Bucks 45-33 in the game, but it didn’t wind up mattering in the end.

Joe Johnson had an outstanding game with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Tyronn Lue came off of the bench firing as he scored 29 points & dished out 7 assists.  Josh Childress also had a good game off of the bench with 21 points & 7 rebounds.  Shelden Williams scored 4 points and snatched 15 rebounds.  Josh Smith had a bad game shooting (1 of 12 from the floor) only scoring 4 points, but he grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 2 assists, stole the ball 3 times and blocked 3 shots.

The young Hawks need to learn how to finish games, as they fell to 4-4 on the season.

The Hawks played hard but fell just a little bit short.  Joe Johnson had another good game with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.  Josh Smith had another good game with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots.  Zaza Pachulia played well with 21 points & 8 rebounds.  Josh Childress had a solid game off of the bench with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.  Tyronn Lue also had a good game off the bench with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Hawks might have lost the game but they look like a team on the rise with a 4-2 record.

The Hawks shot 50% from the floor and out-rebounded the Raptors 49-40 on their way to a solid road victory.  Joe Johnson was on fire with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.  Josh Smith was also blazing with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.  Josh Childress had a solid game with 16 points & 5 rebounds.  Tyronn Lue provided a spark off of the bench with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

This was a nice road victory for a young team on the rise.  The surprising Hawks are now 4-1 on the season.

Tyronn Lue hit a shot at the buzzer to send the game into overtime and then the Hawks dominated the Cavs 14-5 to win the game.  The Hawks played suffocating defense the whole game holding the Cavs to 36.3% shooting from the floor.  Joe Johnson led the way with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.  Zaza Pachulia had another solid game with 19 points.  Back-up point guard Tyronn Lue had a huge game with 19 points & 11 assists.  Josh Smith was aggressive all game long and scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

This is a huge win for the Hawks that are now 3-1, which is amazing.
